Enpass can automatically import all your passwords and other information from other password managers to Enpass. You can import data into Enpass from 1Password, Keepass, KeepassX, Lastpass, Bitwarden, mSecure, Roboform, SafeInCloud, Splash ID, Sticky Password, Pre-formatted CSV file Importing passwords from Chrome into Enpass. Open Enpass desktop version, hit the menu button and go to File → Import → Click on 1password. Select the 1PIF format of the file, browse and select the file from the system, and click Continue. You will now see the confirmation message to import the items, click Continue.

Exported data files are not encrypted. They are stored in plain text. Anyone with access to your exported data files will be able to read your passwords. Do not email exported data files or store them online. Delete them when you are done with them.
- Open and unlock 1Password.
- Select the vault you want to export. It’s not possible to export from “All Vaults”, so you’ll need to switch to a specific vault.
- Choose File > Export > All Items. If you belong to a team account, there may be some vaults where you don’t have the “Export items” permission. Ask your team administrator.
- Enter your Master Password.
- Choose a file format:
- 1Password Interchange Format (.1pif) to move data to another copy of 1Password.
- Comma Delimited Text (.csv) to move data to a different app.
- Tab Delimited Text (.txt) to move data to a different app.
- Click Save.

- Open and unlock 1Password.
- Select the items you want to export. Select multiple items by holding down the Ctrl key when clicking on them. Select all the items by pressing Ctrl + A after clicking one of the items in the list.
- Right-click the selected item(s) and choose Export.
- Choose a format:
- Comma Delimited Text (.csv) to move data to a different app.
- Plain Text (.txt) for a readable list of your items.
- Enter a filename and click Save.

- Open 1Password and unlock the vault you want to export.
- Choose File > Export.
- Choose a format:
- 1Password Interchange Format (.1pif) to move data to another copy of 1Password.
- Comma Delimited Text (.csv) to move Login items to a different app. Only Login items are exported in this format.
- Enter a filename and click Save.
Enpass To 1password Tutorial
This section is for you if you are using 1Password and want to switch to Enpass. If it is so, we thank you for liking Enpass.
Step 1: Export data from 1password¶
Before importing your data from 1Password to Enpass, first you need to export your 1Password data in the .1pif unencrypted file format. Usually you need the desktop version for respective software to export your data in unencrypted format.
Follow these steps to export your data-
- Open 1Password App.
- Click on File → Export → All items.
- Select 1pif file format.
- Choose a name for the .1pif file and save it to your desktop.

Warning
The data exported to unencrypted file is highly insecure and vulnerable. We recommend that you delete the corresponding .1pif file as soon as the importing process is finished.
Step 2: Import data into Enpass desktop¶

Only the desktop version of Enpass can import data from 1Password. The process is automatic and very easy.

- Start the Import wizard from File-Import.
- The first step of Import wizard is to select the 1Password from the list and click Continue.
- Locate the .1pif file containing the exported data. Click Continue.
- The next screen will show all the items detected in the selected file and ready to be imported in Enpass. Have a quick look to check if they are recognized properly. Click Import.
- Importing process will start and will take some time depending upon the number of items being imported.
- The next screen will show Success message with number of items successfully imported in Enpass. Click Done.
Warning
Now you must delete the corresponding .1pif file as it is unprotected and highly insecure to keep.
- The main screen of Enpass will be displayed with all the recently imported items placed under Import category.
- You are now free to edit them or to change their category by simply dragging and dropping to that particular category.
